Minimally invasive surgery is considered one of the popular methods of surgical intervention today. Practitioners have accumulated vast experience, which is passed on, among other things, at international forums at various levels. On January 24-25, 2019, a conference was held in Lübeck, Germany, which was dedicated to the topic: “Focus on digital technologies.”
The focus was on the main promising areas – robotic instruments, imaging technologies, advanced imaging, simulation of surgical interventions. The training was conducted in the format of video lectures, during which leading experts in minimally invasive surgery presented their own proprietary developments, which are effectively used and benefit patients. At working sessions, you could exchange opinions with colleagues on the information received, talk about your own achievements, and get answers to your questions.
One of the topics discussed is laser treatment of haemorrhoids. Our center provides a similar service. Therefore, practical experience has been accumulated, which has allowed for an active, useful exchange of information with colleagues from the countries participating in the conference. During the discussion, the reliability and safety of the method was confirmed.
After treatment, patients with grade 2-4 haemorrhoids feel a significant improvement in their health. This occurs by restoring the natural functionality of the anal canal without excision of the haemorrhoidal area. The treatment, which is gentle on the body, allows the patient to spend less time in the center and on sick leave. At the conference, expert research results were also announced that confirm the need for laser treatment of haemorrhoids in patients who have no contraindications to this procedure.
