    Many people consider haemorrhoids a delicate problem, which is why they delay visiting a doctor indefinitely. But in this case, the situation worsens, which can lead to the development of serious complications. Therefore, it is not worth ignoring the problem – at the first signs of the pathology, you should consult a proctologist.

    Our Advantages

    • Careful examination. An anoscope is used to inspect the anal canal; a laser is not a device for routine anoscopic diagnostics. The size of the instrument, the need for anesthesia, and the allowable volume of examination are selected based on the patient’s condition. In cases of severe pain, the sequence of inspection may be altered.
    • Pain-controlled therapy. During the operation, we use spinal anesthesia with simultaneous epidural catheterization for postoperative pain management.
    • Topical medications for anal fissures — as indicated and considering contraindications. They are not suitable for all patients; the cost of medications and services is specified separately.
    • Treatment options. Outpatient or minimally invasive care is possible according to indications, but not for every proctological disease. The need for hospitalization, the number of stages, and recovery times are determined after examination; it is impossible to promise a universal result in one session.
    • One-day surgery. After the operation, you can return home in just 2 hours.
    • Provision of disposable underwear. They help manage embarrassment and give confidence during diagnostics.
    • Home-like atmosphere. We offer our clients coffee and tea. Those who wish can use Wi-Fi.
    • Careful service. The doctor explains the stages of the appointment, takes complaints into account, and coordinates the examination with the patient. In case of pain, it is necessary to inform so that the appropriate strategy and anesthesia can be chosen.

    But it is better not to wait until problems appear and to undergo preventive examinations annually. They allow timely detection and elimination of even the slightest pathological changes in the intestine, which will help avoid dangerous complications. Preventive measures are especially important for people over 40 years of age.

    Diseases Treated by a Proctologist

    Our medical center successfully treats:

    • haemorrhoids;
    • anal fissures;
    • presacral cyst;
    • rectal prolapse;
    • epithelial coccygeal tracts;
    • pararectal fistulas.

    Preparation for a Proctologist Appointment

    To make the diagnostics as effective as possible, it is necessary to properly prepare for a proctologist appointment. A day before visiting the doctor, you should refrain from consuming foods that cause increased gas formation: fatty dishes, fresh fruits and vegetables, bran, dairy and fermented dairy products.

    In the morning, it is advisable to empty your bowels naturally. If this is not possible, you can take a laxative or use an enema.

    In the case of acute pain, you should go to the doctor immediately, without preparation.

    If the intimacy of the procedure causes you significant anxiety, you can drink rosehip tea or take a small amount of valerian tincture.

    To eliminate anxiety, a minimal dose of rosehip or valerian tincture is allowed before visiting the specialist.

    How the Appointment Happens

    At the first appointment, the proctologist will carefully listen to complaints, ask clarifying questions regarding the medical history, and perform a visual examination of the perineum. In cases of pronounced signs of haemorrhoids, such an examination is quite sufficient to make a diagnosis. If the doctor has any doubts, he will refer for additional examinations: anoscopy, rectosigmoidoscopy. Based on the examination results, the specialist will prescribe the optimal treatment.

    Therapy Methods

    Specialists at the leading haemorrhoid treatment center in Kyiv use medication therapy whenever possible. If surgical intervention is necessary, they select gentle innovative methods.

    Thanks to modern equipment, surgeries in our clinic are performed using minimally invasive methods (without incisions) – through miniature punctures or natural openings. As a result, it is possible to minimize the risk of complications and significantly reduce the rehabilitation period.

    Our medical center applies the following techniques:

    • Internal haemorrhoids — HAL-RAR can be used in selected patients. This involves ligation of the feeding arterial branches with lifting of the internal tissue if necessary. The method does not eliminate all types of external or combined haemorrhoids and does not guarantee a single result at any stage. The choice is compared with other outpatient and surgical options.
    • Haemorrhoids stages 1-2 – thrombectomy using a laser.
    • Haemorrhoids stage 3-4 – Longo surgery (stapled haemorrhoidopexy) or Milligan-Morgan haemorrhoidectomy (using COVIDIEN Ligasure device).
    • Acute anal fissures – use of local medications.
    • Chronic anal fissures – excision of fissures in combination with sphincterotomy (cutting of the sphincter).
    • Rectal prolapse — a separate condition: the surgeon chooses the appropriate method, including options such as rectopexy or perineal surgeries as indicated. Stapled haemorrhoidopexy should not be considered a universal treatment for complete prolapse.
    • Presacral cyst – removal of the cyst using laparoscopy.
    • Epithelial pilonidal sinuses — excision of the sinuses.
    • Pararectal fistulas – incision of the fistulas.

    Rehabilitation

    Some procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis or in a day surgery setting. The duration of observation and the time of discharge depend on the intervention, anesthesia, and overall condition. Returning to normal activities may take time; the need for temporary incapacity, diet, care, and pain management is discussed individually. Before discharge, the patient receives recommendations and signs indicating when to contact a doctor.

    After discharge, our patients are not left alone with the problem. At any time, you can consult a proctologist.

    Do not self-medicate, do not rely on miracle ointments. Forget false shame and consult a proctologist for any delicate issues. The doctor will conduct diagnostics and prescribe optimal treatment, which will allow you to return to your usual lifestyle as quickly as possible.

    A timely visit to a proctologist will allow the detection of pathology at early stages of development, which contributes to effective and rapid treatment.
